More Thoughts on Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner
January 27th, 2009 by Matthew VadumSoon after he won confirmation on a closer than expected 60 to 34 vote in the Senate last night, tax evader Timothy Geithner was sworn in as secretary of the Treasury.
“Had he not been nominated for treasury secretary, it’s doubtful that he would have ever paid these taxes,” said Sen. Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia).
Byron York of National Review has a good blog post on Democratic senators who refused to vote to confirm Geithner and NR’s Andy McCarthy has a list of 10 Republican senators who voted to confirm him.
